Description

As I prepare and write for my January 2021 show at SOIL, I have just witnessed, through the media, the mob assault on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. In response, I have changed my intentions and made of one show, two exhibitions with distinctive and symbolic openings:

On January 7, the show opened with black, velvet drapes over the art on the pedestal and on the walls of the gallery in response to the freaking assault.

On January 20, the show opens without the drapes, an unveiling and a symbolic action to Inauguration Day.

2021 looms in the world with vestiges of 2020: COVID 19, CHAZ; BLM, Zoom; Teams, WhatsApp and whatnot. The recent assault to the Capitol propels my imagination to Inauguration day on the horizon and makes me want to toss the key after I, symbolically, lock everything behind me. I want to look positively to what comes ahead and reflect on some personal highlights: my new art-commission for the Climate Pledge Arena at the Seattle Center; succeeding in teaching remotely; and moving into a new space in West Seattle.

Call in (206) …-…., on January 20, my originally intended show at SOIL, opens the door to you to my workspace. 3D printed art and photos of my studio hang on the walls of the gallery to portal you into my place. From the gallery or anywhere you are, I invite you to call (206) 399-7870 to visit, phone to phone, my new space.
