As the Camera Sees It

Summary

“As the Camera Sees It” shows a selection of laser portraits, along with a two-channel, still-projection. Nine laser planes, pervading walls, floor and ceiling, divide the space forming spatial intersections that people can physically trespass. Included in this exhibition is an installation of a two-channel, still-projection of images Alessandrini took from her recent teaching program through the University of Washington in Italy. The images unveil a time line of nonlinear memories that map a journey through art and architecture. It showcases her visit to this year’s 12th International Architectural Biennial in Venice. On both floors the artists have installed several light boxes exploring light and the representation of light.
