Solidarity and Resilience
Summary

Project Description
On April 6th 2009 the Abruzzo region of Italy was hit by a deadly earthquake of 6.3 moment magnitude. Most of the damage occurred in the medieval city of L’Aquila capital city of the Abruzzo region and the surrounding villages. Over 300 people are known to have died. With SOLIDARITY AND RESILIENCE I wish to advocate the idea of resilience the ability intrinsic in certain objects and people to return to their original state after external events have physically and/or emotionally transformed them. This quality is measured against the nature to adapt, flex, give, bound both in art--the Moore theater--and in life--the recent earthquake in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The piece unfold excerpts from the earthquake inside cd's jewelcases, part recycled material, part container, and part stored memory.
